Jonathan Van Ness Has a Bob Haircut Now—Can You Believe?

His 'Queer Eye' castmates are loving it.

As the resident motivational hairstylist and makeover extraordinaire on Netflix’s Queer Eye, Jonathan Van Ness deserves to sometimes indulge in his own salon moment. Earlier this week, Van Ness paid a visit to stylist and friend ShereneTheQueen and got his signature long hair chopped into a long bob—aka a "lob," for all of JvN's fellow hairstyling experts.

“Got a new cut by @sherenethequeen,” Van Ness captioned his August 7th Instagram post. “I use to work with Sherene during my lovely time back at @artesalonnyc.”

Sherene reposted JvN’s Instagram video with the caption, “Don’t you just Love Jonathan? Confidence for daysss! Enjoy your Fresh summer look darling.”

Van Ness has been wearing his hair super long for a while now, and he and has been known to rock a bun, middle-part pony, and half-up, half-down look, here and there. We can’t wait to see what he does with his brand new bob. Dare we call it a clavicle bob, which Ashley Benson and Priyanka Chopra brought into the public consciousness last fall?

So far he’s taken his lob out on the streets of New York City, showing it off slightly curlier. However, with coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic rules and guidelines in place, sadly there’s really no one out and about to show it off to (which isn’t actually a bad thing—keep following rules, people!).

We aren’t the only ones excited for this new Van Ness hairstyle. JvN’s Queer Eye costar Bobby Berk commented a row of fire emojis on his post. And Tan France—fashion expert—commented, “LOOKS GORG, JACKAAAY.”

We thought we were done with our quarantine haircut phase, but Van Ness is giving us the inspiration to through caution to the wind and chop our hair. Now all we need is a self-confidence-inspiring speech from the makeover expert himself.
