Karl Stefanovic's ex: 'Don't compare me to Jasmine'
The former wife of Today host, Karl Stefanovic, has penned a powerful letter, slamming reports she's out for "final revenge" on her ex after he walked away from their 21-year marriage.
Cassandra Thorburn says she's just "happy to be starting a new chapter of my life" without the father of her three kids and finds it tough when she is compared to her former hubby's new flame, Jasmine Yarbrough.
"I don’t feel the need to exact revenge on Karl for leaving me," she wrote on Now To Love. "I’m just happy to be starting a new chapter of my life. I’m most content spending time with my three children and making plans for our future."
Her response follows a report in New Idea that claimed Cassie was just “weeks away” from announcing a big career move “that could make her even more successful than her Logie-winning ex”.
"Nothing would give her more satisfaction than beating Karl at his own game after everything he’s done to her,” the publication stated.
The former ABC journalist also rubbished claims her ex-husband had been flaunting Jasmine, 33, at public events he “didn’t take” her to.
“I went to everything from Derby Day to fashion shows,” she wrote. “I find it very hurtful they feel the need to compare Karl’s new girlfriend Jasmine with me."
Cassandra Thorburn, 46, finalised her divorce with TV presenter Karl last October, around the same time the 43-year-old started dating designer Jasmine.
“Karl and I created 21 years of memories," she added. "There’s certainly no competition between our years together and their lives now."
