The real reason Kate was left in 'tears' after Meghan fallout

It was the wedding of the year, with Meghan Markle getting her fairytale ending by walking down the aisle at Windsor Castle on May 19th in 2018, to marry Prince Harry.

Thousands of well-wishers showed up from all over the world, Meghan looked breathtaking in a Givenchy longs-sleeved gown and Prince Harry couldn’t wipe the smile off his face all day.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle meet panelists and beneficiaries as they attend the first annual Royal Foundation Forum held at Aviva on February 28, 2018 in London, England. Under the theme 'Making a Difference Together', the event will showcase the programmes run or initiated by The Royal Foundation.

However, the lead up to the Sussexes' big day was anything but perfect it seems, as according to reports at the time, Kate Middleton was left in floods of tears after a bridesmaid's dress fitting.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s only daughter, Princess Charlotte, acted as bridesmaid on the day, showing up looking adorable in a cream short-sleeved dress with a flower crown perched on her head.

Yet, according to reports, her mum, Kate Middleton, was left crying after a fitting, over Meghan’s ‘strict’ demands.

An insider at the time claimed the emotional incident followed a “stressful” dress fitting — just weeks before Harry and Meghan were due to walk down the aisle.

Now, a royal insider has claimed the whole debacle centered around tights and whether or not the bridesmaids should follow royal protocol.

"It was a hot day and apparently there was a row over whether the bridesmaids should wear tights or not,” the insider told Tatler.

"Kate, following protocol, felt that they should. Meghan didn't want them to."

Pictures from the day show the bridesmaids bare-legged, as it ended up being a scorcher in London.

At the time, the fallout between the pair was believed the be the cause of the ‘Fab Four’s’ royal rift.

“Kate and Meghan are very different people,” a source told the Daily Mail at the time. “They don’t really get on.”

However, it soon became clear that things weren’t right between all four of the younger royals, with Prince Harry and Prince William appearing to also fall out.

Prince Harry went so far as to tell the ITV in the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey which aired last year that he and his older brother were on different paths.

Just yesterday, it was revealed that Price William actually ‘was the the first to get on the phone’ after that interview aired and the pair are working through their differences.
