Fans of the royal family will be delighted to hear that The Cambridges have been keeping up with one of their favourite lockdown activities: baking. Well, given little Louis' obsession with former The Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry, it's hardly a surprise. Right?

Now, Kate Middleton, Prince William and their three children, the eldest of two who are back at school and navigating the new COVID rules in place, have turned their attentions to baking for a very worthy cause: they've been supporting the Royal British Legion in their Poppy Appeal, which takes place in the run up to Remembrance Day.

Sharing a photograph of a plate of some neatly iced poppy-themed cakes, the Royal British Legion thanked the family for their sweet gesture – which will no doubt inspire others to get baking to raise money for the organisation. The Legion has been providing financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, along with their families, for almost 100 years.

Captioning the snap of the cakes, the Royal British Legion's Instagram account wrote: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their family have shown their support for our Poppy Appeal this year by baking poppy cakes! These delicious cakes were delivered to residents at our care home in Norfolk." The post was later shared on @KensingtonRoyal's official Instagram account too.

No doubt William will have been over the moon with the cake-making session, as earlier this year he joked that "the family kitchen at their country home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, [became] an 'explosion of flour and chocolate' as they whiled away the lockdown baking cakes and biscuits."

It's also known that he has a bit of a sweet tooth, as reported by royal correspondent Katie Nicholl in Vanity Fair: "William has a sweet tooth and one of his favourite treats is chocolate biscuit cake, which was served on the couple’s wedding day and is a recipe Kate knows by heart." How sweet!

Kate Middleton was also seen teasing her husband about his love of chocolate during a Zoom video call at the beginning of lockdown, too. When discussing their plans for Easter with a group of teachers and pupils from a school in Burnley, William joked, "There'll be a lot of chocolate being eaten here, don't worry!" before Kate playfully chimed in with, "You keep eating it!"

The couple also recently dropped into a famous London bagel spot to help staff with crafting some delicious treats, too. So basically, they're a family of seasoned pros in the kitchen at this point
