William, Kate, and the kids land in Scotland after flying budget

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were spotted arriving in Scotland with their children on Thursday morning.

And while Harry and Meghan copped heavy criticism for choosing to travel in private jets, the Cambridges flew on a FlyBe plane, a budget carrier, from Norwich International Airport, according to Mail Online.

In a video obtained by the publication, the family can be seen walking across the tarmac.

“The family were sat right at the front. I fly this route all the time and we were non the wiser. No-one knew they were on the flight,” a fellow passenger on the plane reportedly said.

Kate and Will travel budget

In the clip, William walks ahead with George, who is dressed in a striped top and shorts, and Charlotte, wearing a gingham dress.

Kate, who appears to be in a jumper and a midi skirt, carries Prince Louis, alongside the family's nanny Maria Borrallo.

William, 37, and Kate, 37, touched down at Aberdeen airport with Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Prince Louis for their annual family trip to Balmoral.

They are expected to stay with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the Balmoral estate.

The Cambridges were last seen in public at the King’s Cup regatta on the Isle of Wight earlier this month.

Kate and William went head-to-head in a boat race, to raise awareness and funds for eight of their patronages.

The couple’s eldest children George and Charlotte watched from a nearby boat with their grandparents Michael, 70 and Carole Middleton, 64.

Elton John defends Harry and Meghan

Sir Elton John has taken to Instagram to defend the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they travelled by private jet to stay at his $27 million villa in Nice last week.

In the post, which included a photo of the couple on their royal tour down under last year, the 72-year-old British singer blasted the “distorted and malicious” comments about their less than eco friendly jet set lifestyle.

He also stated that their most recent flight - which reportedly would have emitted seven times more carbon dioxide per passenger than a commercial flight - was actually “carbon neutral”.
