Katy Perry has been blasted on social media by a male model who accuses her of ‘belittling’ and ‘exposing’ him in front of a group of people.
Model Josh Kloss starred opposite Perry in her 2009 Teenage Dream music video but claims the experience was far from a dream, saying she invited him to a strip club, called their love scenes ‘gross’, and most seriously, that some time after the filming wrapped, she exposed his penis to a group of onlookers without his consent.
Katy Perry has not yet responded to requests for comment.
An explosive claim online
The Instagram post in which the model levelled the shocking accusations was uploaded yesterday, on the song’s tenth anniversary, and detailed what Josh described as the ‘confusing, assaulting, and belittling’ experience of working with Katy.
“So I saw Katy a couple times after her break up with Russell (ex-husband Russell Brand). This one time I brought a friend who was dying to meet her,” he wrote.
“...when I saw her, we hugged and she was still my crush. But as I turned to introduce my friend, she pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us, my penis.”
The shocking accusations were followed up with a broader statement from the model, who said he felt compelled to speak up to prove men can also be on the receiving end of unwanted attention.
“I just say this now because our culture is set on proving men of power are perverse,” he wrote. “But females with power are just as disgusting.”
The confronting caption accompanied a screenshot from the video Katy and Josh shot together.
Claims ‘controlling’ PR team ‘censored’ the model
He followed up the accusations with claims her PR team had tried to gag him.
“I was supposed to minimize myself and stay PC to protect her ‘image’,” he captioned an image he claims is a screenshot of correspondence between himself and the team.
“The fear sticks with you, when you are censored to protect someone else’s image.”
The accusations have been met with an avalanche of criticism from fans of the singer.
One of the three posts the model has shared on the topic was slammed with comments questioning his decision to wait ten years before speaking out, accusing him of trying to take advantage of her fame, and defaming her.
One suggested that if the claims were true, it was probably meant as ‘a joke’, others backed up the co-star, thanking him for telling ‘the truth’.
