Keke Palmer accuses ex Darius Jackson of domestic violence, files for restraining order

The actress is requesting sole custody of their infant son.

Keke Palmer has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-partner Darius Jackson, after she accused him of physical and emotional abuse.

According to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE, the 30-year-old Nope star filed a request Thursday, asking for a restraining order against Jackson and sole custody of the pair's 8-month-old son Leodis. A Los Angeles County judge granted the restraining order on Friday, and according to PEOPLE, the order states that Jackson must stay at least 100 yards away from Palmer and their son.

In Palmer's initial filing, she alleges multiple incidents of physical and emotional abuse, attaching screenshots of apparent home security footage. Palmer writes that the most recent incident happened Sunday, and she alleges that Jackson "trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me — lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police."

The filing describes "many instances of physical violence, including striking and grabbing me around the neck, descriptions of Darius destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting me in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse."

Palmer also detailed an alleged incident in April 2022, when Jackson accused Palmer of flirting with another woman at a restaurant in Santa Barbara. "Darius grabbed my prescription eyeglasses away from me, threw them on the ground and stomped on them," the filing reads. "He then opened my bag, threw all of my belongings onto the pavement in the rain, and threw my car keys across the parking lot before he got into his own car and drove off."

Representatives for both Palmer and Jackson did not immediately respond to EW's requests for comment.

Palmer also accuses Jackson of gaslighting and "love bombing" her, making her feel "like I was the most important woman in the world," only to pivot and punish her for a perceived insult.

"If we were at a party or event, and I spoke with one person too long or looked at someone a 'certain way,' he would storm off in a rage — telling me I was 'slut' and a 'whore,' accuse me of cheating on him, and that I did not love him," the filing continues. "Darius had a way of gaslighting me to make me feel like I was doing something wrong even though I wasn't."

After Palmer filed for the restraining order on Thursday, Jackson posted a photo on social media of himself with son Leodis. "I love you, son," he wrote. "See you soon."

Earlier this summer, Jackson sparked controversy when he publicly shamed Palmer for what she chose to wear to an Usher concert. Palmer was filmed dancing with the singer at a July show, wearing a sheer dress and black bodysuit. Jackson shared the video on social media, writing, "It's the outfit tho… you a mom."

After facing backlash, Jackson defended himself on social media, writing in a since-deleted tweet: "We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn't want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case."
