Kel Mitchell Thanks Fans for ‘Flood of Prayers’ After ‘Frightening’ Health Scare
Actor Kel Mitchell has assured fans he’s “now on the road to recovery” after a mystery medical incident sent him to the hospital earlier this week.
“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time,” Mitchell wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “The scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”

According to TMZ, Mitchell had been admitted to a Los Angeles-area hospital on Tuesday night and was reportedly conscious and alert when he arrived to the emergency room. The specifics of his health scare have yet to be disclosed; TVLine has reached out to the actor’s reps for comment.
Mitchell is best known for his work on the Nickelodeon series All That and Kenan & Kel, as well as the 1997 film Good Burger. Mitchell and longtime scene partner Kenan Thompson will reprise their respective Good Burger roles of Ed and Dexter in the upcoming sequel Good Burger 2, landing on Paramount+ on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
