Kelly Stafford on regretting her breast implants: 'It was 2 balloons on my chest'

Kelly Stafford is opening up about her plastic surgery regrets.

The Morning After podcast host, who is married to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, spoke about the drama surrounding her breast implants.

"I saved up a ton of money. I worked in high school, from birthdays, I just saved it all. I dressed so terribly, I wasn't buying clothes, that wasn't my thing. Again, still not really my thing," she explained on the podcast. “I went and got a boob job. And Matthew was totally against this. He was like, 'Do not do it, please don't do it.’ And I was like, 'Love you, but I've wanted this for a long time, and this is about me, it's not about you.'"

Stafford ultimately did have the surgery, but it didn't go as she had hoped.

"Y'all, it was the worst boob job you have ever [seen]," she said. "It was two balloons on my chest. It was so, so bad."

At the time, Matthew, who was then Stafford's boyfriend, was playing for the Detroit Lions.

"What's worse is that the Detroit media realized and started saying that Matthew paid for a boob job for his girlfriend," Stafford said. "And immediately, I was like, 'Hold on now! I paid for it myself!'"

Stafford said she went back to the doctor a few months later to express her dissatisfaction but was told to wait for them to "settle." When she still wasn't happy a year later, the doctor "drained" them.

"It was when they were doing saline because silicone was dangerous," she explained.

Stafford isn't the only football wife who opened up about regretting her breast implants. Supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who is married to Tom Brady, revealed in 2018 that the surgery, which she had to correct unevenness in her breast size after nursing her two kids, made her feel worse about her body.

"When I woke up, I was like, 'What have I done?' I felt like I was living in a body I didn't recognize," she told People at the time. "For the first year, I wore [baggy] clothes because I felt uncomfortable."

While Stafford's husband did not support her breast augmentation at the time, the two have been side by side during some difficult situations. In 2019, Stafford had surgery to remove an acoustic neuroma from her cranial nerves. She told Good Morning America of the ordeal, "I wouldn't be here today, without him. He was the one that really encouraged me to go get checked and fought with me through that entire battle."
