Khabib calls out UFC legend for one last title fight
Legendary MMA fighter Georges St-Pierre is expected to announce his retirement this week, but Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t ready to accept it.
Khabib took to Instagram overnight and posted a photo of himself and St-Pierre with their belts, along with a message begging St-Pierre to postpone his retirement until the two of them can meet in the Octagon for the final fight of St-Pierre’s career.

That might be the most respectful social media call-out of all time.
Khabib is willing to fight St-Pierre anywhere (besides Las Vegas, of course), and at whichever weight St-Pierre is comfortable with.
If St-Pierre fought and won at 155, he would be the first UFC fighter in history to hold a title in three different weight classes.
Khabib said on Instagram that he’s willing to fight, but things appear to be a bit more complicated than that.
According to MMA reporter Benoit Beaudoin, St-Pierre’s forthcoming retirement is a result of failed fight negotiations with Khabib and his team.
It’s not known what caused the negotiations to fail, but Khabib might be trying to buy a little more time for negotiations with his Instagram post.
Khabib’s trying, but St-Pierre may have made up his mind already.
Just spoke to GSP. He didn’t want to go into too much details. I asked about @TeamKhabib‘s message and he said: “I saw what Khabib wrote, and I appreciate it very much. Unfortunately, these decisions aren’t up to us. I will address everything at the press conference tomorrow.”

Oof. Doesn’t seem like there’s much hope for a GSP/Khabib fight. Even the undefeated Khabib can’t win ’em all.
