Kmart shoppers spot 'insane' detail online for $6 camping 'must-have'
Social media users have discovered a rather bizarre detail on Kmart’s website.
Like most Kmart shoppers, caravan owners and campers love buying products that make their lives just a little bit easier. Whether it’s a $5.50 storage container for your food or a $20 bed bug-resistant fitted mattress cover, the retail store typically has something for all your outdoor needs - regardless of whether it’s advertised as such.
One creative shopper took to a Facebook group this week to express their excitement over a $6 bike cup and phone holder. Rather than installing it on their bicycle, they attached it to their camping chair as a more stable way to hold their beverage.
“This bike cup holder is the bomb! Best $6 ever hubby reckons!” they wrote.

Others quickly took to the comments to applaud the clever idea, with one person writing: “Heading straight to Kmart to get one, thank you for sharing.”
“I just bought one too!” another added, while a third said, “I have it and it works a treat”.
“It’s honestly the best,” someone else replied, followed by a different user who remarked, “I went to Kmart today but they were sold out! Everyone must have seen it here”.
'Insane' detail on Kmart’s website
Plenty of people also pointed out that Kmart sells a similar product in the store’s nursery section, which led to an “insane” discovery from one shopper.
While Kmart’s bike cup and phone holder is $6, the stroller cup and phone holder is $15. Both products are designed to keep your drink and phone easily accessible while on the go and are made from the same material - acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).
“Just an edit… the price difference between the baby section and the bike section is insane!” the shopper commented after making the discovery. “Of course I concede they may be made slightly differently but look the same from the photos!”
What's the difference between the two products?
The two products appear to connect to your bike or stroller handlebar similarly, however, they have slightly different designs. The stroller cup and phone holder is 19cm long, 10cm wide and 9.5cm deep, while the cheaper option for your bike is 16.5cm long, 8cm wide and 10cm deep.
The bike cup is also available in multiple colours, including pink, blue, green or black, and the stroller cup is only available in black. The online listing for both products says it has “convenient and easy installation and removal”.

As for reviews, the bike cup is yet to receive a rating online while the stroller cup has a 3.4-star rating, with a handful of users describing it as “very cheap” and “easy to break”.
“Doesn't attach well or securely to my pram, phone bounced right out,” one person wrote in their review, while another added, “I can’t use this because it just doesn’t stay on my pram”.
“Won’t fit a mug with handle, and my iPhone won’t fit either. So if you have an iPhone 14 plus don't bother,” someone else pointed out.
Both items seem to work well when installed on a camping chair, however, so the big decision is whether you want a coloured one!
