Here at HelloGiggles, we like to offer a monthly tarotscope in conjunction with our weekly horoscope readings. Unlike horoscopes, which tracks planetary positions in the sky to make predictions on what is to come for each zodiac sign, tarotscopes predict upcoming energies for each zodiac sign by drawing a tarot card for each sign.

If you’re seriously into the mystical divinations of tarot, then you’re going to love the predictions from our new tarotscope reader, Michael Cardenas. Cardenas is the head witch at Olde Ways, an online hub for all things mystical and magical information and products. Our new mistro of tarot also boasts over fifteen years of experience as a clairvoyant/medium, with an extensive background in giving personal readings and mediumship sessions. His straightforward approach to readings makes them accessible, and easy to understand—even if you’re new to the world of magic. What’s your Sun sign?

Taurus

What quality of that sign do you most embody?

I’m such a typical Taurus. I want everything to be aesthetically pleasing, comfortable, familiar, delicious, and I will go to great lengths to make this happen. My home is especially important and the energy has to be on point with candles lit, incense burning, chill ambient music on, and a stack of my favorite vintage books next to me. Don’t forget the lemon water. I’m pretty simple really.

THE SPRING EQUINOX Look to nature and her cycles and you will learn everything about witchcraft, healing, and about life. Life, death, Rebirth. The Spring Equinox teaches us about renewal and the ever evolving regenerative ways of the Earth. The light masters the darkness at this time of the year. This concept is twofold. On one hand we have the literal translation of the Earth beginning to warm up and reanimate with the light of the sun, taking us from the darkness of winter and into the light of spring. On a spiritual / esoteric level the concept “Light mastering darkness “ is our “Shadow Side” coming to light to be seen, to be felt, to be healed. Our emotional wounds from the end of last year, our current trauma, our self-isolation is all on the altar of our hearts to be processed and resolved so in the coming months we can move forward, receptive to a new beginning and to life’s blessings. Some Equinox practices include: spiritually cleansing your home, taking salt baths, building a bonfire, and burning a black and a white candle for balance. The ancient Aztecs would focus on offerings of the spoken word at this time. Our breath and words are so valuable and powerful that even the gods themselves were humbled by this offering. Take this time to speak, sing, chant, recite poetry to Spirit. Vent to them. Ask yourself “where do I need balance?”, say it out loud. Ask for what you need and want. Speak it into existence. What part of your natal chart most accurately describes you?

It’s a mix of two aspects. I identify a lot with my Virgo rising; I’m a total perfectionist. It’s actually one of the main things clients notice about my work is my attention to detail. Everything has to be on point—the vibe, the lighting, the fresh flowers, the planetary references, etc.

The other aspect is my Scorpio moon. I don’t like secrets, I’m sensitive, and love my solitude. I’ve also spent most of my life studying the occult/metaphysical/magic and work very comfortably in the mediumship realm.

What tarot card do you most identify with?

The Lovers. I’m a hopeless romantic and a big part of what I do focuses on casting love spells, helping couples to sort out their differences, putting people in alignment with love, etc. My ruling planet is Venus and I actually have her symbol tattooed on my ring finger. I’m deeply invested.

When did you first get into tarot?

My journey with tarot began when I was about 12 years old and my mom bought me a deck (after begging, of course) from a local witch shop I loved going to. I am a natural medium and as I got older, my connection to the other side started to get more intense—I needed a teacher to help me understand what was going on and I found one there.

I essentially learned how to blend tarot with mediumship. A few times, out of curiosity, my family would ask me to read for them and it was so accurate they would bring a friend over to ask a question and that kind of got me started reading for others. Years later, I actually got a job at a different shop and starting reading professionally. That eventually evolved to having my good friend Marissa help me organize wine and tarot parties where she would tell her esthetician clients about me and they would host a gathering and serve wine while I read for their guests in private rooms. That sparked my independent business as a reader, and it’s evolved ever since. It’s been a lifelong passion and journey that is constantly teaching me about human nature, the universe, and the world around me.

Coming to see me for a reading is like going to see a professional consultant mixed with a psychic medium. I like to offer clear and practical information related to your situation, and I also work closely with my spirit guides to give you some mystical tips on how to get from where you are to where you want to be.
