Lara Trump's 'Disgraceful' Whine About Trump's Transition Is A Projection Master Class
Lara Trump, without a hint of irony, on Jan. 6 accused Democrats of lying about wanting a peaceful transition of power and claimed that they are “trying to thwart the will of the American people.”
Earlier on Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris oversaw a smooth congressional ceremony certifying Donald Trump’s election win, four years after the president-elect’s lies about voter fraud incited a mob of his supporters to attack the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stop that same process for President Joe Biden.
Trump has still not stopped lying that the 2020 election was “stolen” from him and asserts the violent offenders that day were “peaceful.”
But Lara Trump, former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, says it’s Democrats who are “great at lying and great at gaslighting.”
“They’ve lied about just about everything,” she said on Fox News’ “Hannity,” claiming Democrats “lied when they said they wanted a smooth and peaceful transition.”
She accused them of “throwing everything in Donald Trump’s way, trying to thwart the will of the American people” and called it “absolutely disgraceful.”

Donald Trump on Monday made a similar complaint, writing on Truth Social that “Biden is doing everything possible to make the TRANSITION as difficult as as possible.”
Biden hosted Trump at the White House in November and told him he looked forward to a “smooth transition.” Trump did not extend Biden the same invitation in 2020.
His daughter-in-law’s hypocrisy prompted disgust on social media, including from former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.), who laid it bare.
“Your daddy in law lost an election, refused to accept the result, refused to concede, and refused to participate at all in the peaceful transfer of power,” he wrote. “Nothing is more disgraceful than that. And btw, you can’t complain about ‘lying.’ Your daddy in law lies every time he opens his mouth.”
