Lea Michele dropped by brand after former castmate's accusations

Lea Michele has been dropped as a Hello Fresh ambassador after a former Glee castmate accused the actress of bullying.

Amid the mess of celebrities trying, and often failing, to participate in the Black Lives Matter movement online, Lea’s post was ridiculed by former co-star Samantha Ware, who appeared on Glee in 2009.

The recipe kit delivery company responded on Twitter revealing it was “disheartened and disappointed” to learn of the claims made against Lea Michele.

“HelloFresh does not condone racism nor discrimination of any kind,” the company wrote. “We take this very seriously, and have ended our partnership with Lea Michele, effective immediately.”

It all came to a head on Tuesday, after Lea shared a post in support of the protests over the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police office.

“George Floyd did not deserve this. This was not an isolated incident and it must end. #BlackLivesMatter,” the star wrote.

Samantha Ware was quick to respond to Lea’s post and slammed the star for her behaviour towards her back when they worked together.

In bold capital letters the actress, who played Jane Hayward on the series, claimed Lea made her life ‘hell’ on set, and even made threats towards her.

“LMAO remember when you made my first television gig a living hell?!?!” she wrote. “Cause I’ll never forget.”

It didn’t take long for other stars to respond. Shortly after the accusations went viral, Ariana Grande - Lea’s Scream Queens co-star and friend - unfollowed her. So too did her Glee co-star Keke Palmer.

Alex Newell, Amber Riley and Dabier Snell - who all co-starred in Glee - also reacted to the tweet in support of Samantha.

Lea has yet to make any public comment on the accusations.
