Lexi Reed with husband Danny.Lexi Reed is working hard to get back on track with her fitness journey after struggling with calciphylaxis, which left her unable to walk or stand on her own for several months.
“Little bit of cardio hard-io is complete,” she said on her Instagram story Tuesday, while leaving the gym with husband Danny.
“Good job,” Danny said, giving her a supportive fist bump. “I’m proud of you.”
“I think this week I’m going to try the elliptical with you,” the fitness influencer, 32, said, while Danny nodded. “Because I think it’s time. He’ll have to just watch me because my leg still gives out, but I’m getting stronger. And then eventually we can do weights and stuff together.”

Reed was able to return to the gym in late August, posting on Instagram that she was in remission from calciphylaxis. The rare and serious condition occurs when calcium builds up in blood vessels and blocks blood flow to the skin, according to Cleveland Clinic. It can lead to blood clots, open wounds that don't heal and potentially deadly infections.

“When I first started going to wound care, I was in a wheelchair,” said Reed.
But now, she says she’s taking “small steps, gonna see progress and feeling stronger daily. Let’s go!”
