Lisa's husband Peter says she 'had the best sleep-in in 10 years'
Lisa Wilkinson's husband Peter FitzSimons has spoken for the first time since his wife's shock departure from the Today show saying she got the "best sleep-in in ten years".
The journalist, who was flanked by reporters as he tried to leave the couple's Cremorne on Tuesday morning, was more than happy to let reporters know just how well his wife was doing.
According to Sydney Confidential the 56-year-old revealed his wife of 25 years was enjoying a lie-in after an “extraordinary day”.
“She’s having a lovely sleep in after an extraordinary day, thank you. The best sleep in 10 years,” he told reporters.
The publication also alleges Today was playing on a television in the family room of their North Shore home.
Peter also took a swipe at an online troll on Twitter this morning who said: “With a lefty husband pretty obvious she was going to end on a lefty show. No brainer.”

He responded writing: “She’s been up at 3am for 10 yrs (sic), but still not early enough to put one over on you Andy. Yes, driving force in tv moves is political slant.”
