London travel news LIVE: Severe delays on District line and Overground

Passengers faced chaos on the Tube network on Friday due to a police incident at Willesden Green.

Both the Metropolitan Line and Jubilee Lines were part suspended this morning due to the incident, which TfL described as involving a ‘trespasser’.

Police said they were called to Walm Lane at 3.23am amid concern for the welfare of a man on a bridge. He came down seven hours later and has been taken to hospital.

Chiltern Railways cancelled all services in and out Marylebone station with disruption continuing though lunchtime.

National Rail said lines have reopened, but trains still faced delays of by up to 30 minutes and cancellations as services return.There was also chaos elsewhere on the transport network with a points failure between London Bridge and London Blackfriars, meaning the line was blocked.

Six miles of queues on M25 near Dartford Crossing

Six mile tailbacks and delays of half an hour have been reported on the M25 between junctions 29 and 1A at the Dartford Crossing.

National Highways said it was due to a lane closure because of a broken-down vehicle.

Three lanes close on M25 due to crash

Three lanes have closed and there is queueing traffic due to a crash on M25 anticlockwise, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.

The tailbacks are from J13 A30 (Staines) to J12 M3 J2.

Metropolitan line reopens fully but still has severe delays

Transport for London said there were severe delays on the entire Metropolitan line to an earlier trespasser at Willesden Green, with tickets valid on local buses.

Police confirm Willesden Junction incident over as man comes down from bridge

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed a man on a bridge in London who sparked travel chaos this morning has come down.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “Police werecalled at 03:23hrs on Friday, 9 August following concerns for the welfare of aman on a bridge at Walm Lane, NW2.

“Officers attended and engaged with him and as aconsequence the man came down from the bridge at about 10:35hrs and was taken to hospital.

“Road closures have now been removed and officers thank the public for their patience.”

Severe delays on Jubilee line and Metropolitan line still part-closed due to 'trespasser' incident

Transport for London said there were still severe delays on the Jubilee Line due to an earlier trespasser at Willesden Green.

It also said the incident meant there was no service between Baker Street and Aldgate on the Metropolitan Line due to the incident and there were still severe delays on the rest of the line.

National Rail have said train lines have reopened following police dealing with the incident “near the railway in the London Marylebone area”.

Trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised, it said.

Tube delays due to 'man on bridge at Willesden Green

The Metropolitan Police have provided more details on the ‘trespasser’ incident at Willesden Green that has caused the part suspension of the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines.

In a statement a spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called at about 03:20hrs on Friday, 9 August following concerns for the welfare of a man on a bridge at Walm Lane, NW2.

“Officers are in attendance and attempting to engage with him and ensure his safety.

“Members of the public are requested to find alternative routes for the time being.”

Severe delays on London Overground after vehicle hits bridge at Liverpool Street

Transport for London is reporting severe delays between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt / Chingford / Enfield Town due to a vehicle hitting a bridge at Liverpool Street.

It says there is a a good service on all other London Overground routes.

Lines reopen to Stansted but major disruption expected until 11.30

National Rail say lines have reopened following the emergency services dealing with an incident between Bishops Stortford / Stansted Airport and Cambridge.

Trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until 11.30, National Rail said.

For CrossCountry trains a replacement bus service is running between Stansted Airport and Cambridge.

Greater Anglia train services are being affected between Liverpool Street and Cambridge, and Cambridge and Stansted Airport

Greater Anglia tickets are being accepted on London Underground services between London Liverpool Street and London Kings Cross, on Thameslink services between Farringdon, or London St Pancras International and Cambridge, and on Great Northern services between London Kings Cross and Cambridge.

A limited rail replacement service is operating between Bishops Stortford and Cambridge North.

Major disruption to train to Stansted airport

National Rail have said due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Bishops Stortford , Stansted Airport and Cambridge, all lines are currently closed.

It said: “As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

“Major disruption is expected until 09:30.”

It is affecting CrossCountry and Greater Anglia services.

Bakerloo Line part suspended

There is no service on the Bakerloo Line between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone and severe delays on the rest of the line due to a signal failure at Charing Cross, Tranpsort for London said.

Tickets will be accepted on local buses.

Chiltern Railways have suspended trains in and out of Marylebone station this morning due to a ‘police incident’ at Willesden Green, that TfL have described as a trespasser on the tracks.

National Railways have said “police are dealing with an incident near the railway in the London Marylebone area. As a result of this, all lines are blocked. Trains running to / from these station may be cancelled or revised.

“Major disruption is expected until 09:00.”

There is no service from Wembley Park to Aldgate on the Metropolitan Line due to a trespasser at Willesden Green.

The same incident has meant there is no service between West Hampstead and Wembley Park on the Jubilee Line.

It also means delays on the rest of the lines.
