Looks Like Miley Cyrus's Mullet is Here to Stay Since She Cut Her Own Bangs

Miley Cyrus, seminal fan of breathtaking hair changes. She's gone from serious inches to pixie cuts and everything in between.

As of late, she's been living her best life with a shaggy blonde mullet, and after she just took her hair into her own hands with an at-home bang trim, it looks like it'll staying for a while.

On a recent episode of her Instagram Live talk show Bright Minded: Live with Miley Cyrus, the "Slide Away" singer revealed that she had made a valiant "attempt" to cut her own bangs while speaking to reality star Kristin Cavallari and hairstylist Justin Anderson. She even went into detail about her process.

She described combing her hair all the way forward from the back before she began taking some inches off of her bangs. As you're likely well aware from visits to the salon (or doing this yourself) that isn't the best way to go about giving yourself a trim. The result? An even more prominent mullet that fans are insisting gives her strong Joe Exotic, Tiger King vibes.

"Lucky for me, I'm not going to be seeing anyone,” Cyrus joked of her proclivity to "tweak" her hair while she's alone. She even asked a friend to drop off a pair of thinning shears in her mailbox to facilitate this need to change things up. Honestly, haven't we all been there?

Cyrus has been a fan of her mullet for some time – at least, she hasn't really let it grow out too much. In late 2019, Miley finally welcomed the edgy new mullet thanks to her mother Trish. The finished product wasn't the most even it could be, so the family enlisted celebrity hairstylist Sally Hershberger to polish it off into a punky new cut with feathery layers and piecey bangs.

Since then, Cyrus has been leaning into the look. Now, since she's been doing her own "maintenance," it looks like the mullet is going to be sticking around for a while. What better time to experiment with new looks than this period of social distancing?
