Tonight saw a big change on Love Island, as one of the original girls decided to leave the villa for good.

Samira Mighty clearly hasn't felt the same since her partner Frankie Foster was dumped from the villa alongside Grace Wardle earlier this week and tonight we saw her make the tough decision to exit.

"We've been here from the start and I finally got what I wanted and now I feel like I'm back at square one but worse," she told Dani Dyer. "It's unfinished business.

"I want to stay so bad but I can't be happy in here anymore."

Having slept on it, she called the villa together to announce that she's quitting, saying: "So, these past couple of days I haven't been myself and I've struggled to be happy in here and have fun and I had a taste of what I've wanted and it's gone.

"I've really tried and been tossing and turning about what I'm going to do. I think the best thing for me to get closure on the Frankie situation and for me to be happy is to go today.

"I'm really sad but it's a good thing. I'm really happy that I'm doing this and I feel really strong. I love all of you so much. You are all so amazing."

The rest of the villa gathered to wave her off and plenty of viewers were gutted to see one of the original girls go, even if she was following her heart:

But what we really wanted to know is: why the heck did she leave wearing a bikini and heels rather than stopping to put some clothes on?

But the Islanders didn't get much of a chance to recover from the bombshell of Samira leaving, as it was soon revealed that a recoupling was looming – and along with it, a double dumping.

The power was in the girls' hands this time and it all came down to new girl Alexandra Crane, who had to choose between the three single boys: Alex George, Idris Virgo and Kieran Nicholls.

Much to everyone's horror, her choice wasn't even revealed tonight so we've been left hanging until tomorrow night.

Is Dr Alex's shift in the villa about to come to an end?

Love Island continues tomorrow (July 13) at 9pm on ITV2.
