And some viewers have fallen for a false DM screenshot appearing to show Sherif 'revealing' why he got axed from the ITV show.
The screengrab shows a chat in which someone is seen asking Sherif what happened, with a reply 'Anton happened'. Other messages in the same screengrab alleged a confrontation between Sherif and Anton.
However, a spokesperson for ITV has now revealed to Digital Spy that these comments did not come from Sherif himself, confirming that they are false.
"We have checked and these are not genuine messages from Sherif – they are fake," a Love Island representative told us.
Sherif's departure came after spending only nine days in the villa, and he's now the second Islander to leave the series after Callum MacLeod was dumped on Friday.

"After breaking the villa rules, Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa," said a spokesperson for the show.
While Sherif added: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
"I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it's something I know I will take on board and learn from.
"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."
Love Island airs at 9pm on ITV2, and you can catch up on the show via ITV Hub.
