Lovren mocks Sergio Ramos following Croatia's Nations League win

Dejan Lovren has continued his spat with Sergio Ramos with another remarkable rant in the aftermath of Croatia’s Nations League victory over Spain.

Lovren and Ramos have been in a war of words for some time, and just last week the Liverpool centre-half claimed that Ramos was made to look better by his teammates.

“If you look, Ramos has many more mistakes than me,” Lovren said. “But he plays for Real Madrid, when you do a mistake you win 5-1 or 5-2, nobody cares.”

When asked for a response, Spain captain Ramos refused to bite: “I’ve said it many times. I don’t know if these things are said out of frustration or for other reasons.

“I’m not going to answer Lovren or whoever wants to win three front pages or start the news bulletin. Everyone wins things for himself on the pitch.”

Ramos’ measured response clearly didn’t have the effect he intended because Lovren went on another rant post-match Thursday night.

The Croatia appeared on Instagram Live immediately after the win and said, “Ha ha! 3-2!” and making an elbowing motion.

Reports in various outlets claim the Liverpool defender then says, “Go ahead and talk now buddy. Buddy! Elbowed him good.

“They are a bunch of p******”.

Lovren may even have been attempting to twist the knife further by posing with Ramos’ Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric.

Croatia’s last-gasp 3-2 win blew England’s Nations League group wide open, creating a winner-takes-all match at Wembley on Sunday.

A win for either England or Croatia will see them finish top and qualify for the semi finals, while a loss for either will see them relegated to League B.
