Married at First Sight star Davina Rankin has revealed her pregnancy’s harrowing side effects, weeks after announcing she was expecting her first child.

The 28-year-old made the admission in a 17-minute YouTube video where she detailed the severity of her morning sickness during the first trimester.

“I just couldn’t peel myself out of bed,” she said, explaining how the symptoms eventually led to ‘throwing up at least five times a day’ when she and partner Jaxon took a trip to the Philippines last month.

During this time Davina’s only solace was three motion sickness tablets which she took on travel days as the couple visited the country’s many islands.

"(Those) were just the worst days. Having to travel for like three or four hours on a boat, or on a plane... it was the worst," she said in the clip.

Compounding the reality star’s woes was the action-packed holiday she and Jaxon had planned for, which she was ultimately unable to participate in.

"(I would have to) tap him on the shoulder, and he'd pull the scooter over and I'd throw up," she said.

Thankfully, when Davina reached her second trimester the morning sickness subsided just before she announced the pregnancy on Instagram.

“This year’s Mother’s Day was just that tiny bit more special,” she told followers at the time, adding both her and Jaxon’s “hearts are overflowing with love”.
