"We have truly withstood the test of time and I wouldn’t have it any other way," Magic wrote in a heartfelt tribute to Cookie
The NBA legend, 64, posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram to mark the special occasion on Thursday.
"Today and for many years to come, I celebrate my wife of 32 years, Cookie Johnson on this very special anniversary," Magic wrote in the caption of a reel showing sweet photos of the couple over the years.
Magic continued, "Matthew 19:6 says 'So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate,' we have truly withstood the test of time and I wouldn’t have it any other way."
The former Lakers star told his wife, "I appreciate your everlasting love and encouragement you give me each and every day," in the post.
Magic added that Cookie's "love for Christ, dedication to our family, and heart" inspire him to "be the best man I can be."
Concluding his caption, Magic wrote, "I will always honor and support you in any way that I can, now and forever. Happy Anniversary!"
Magic and Cookie met at Michigan State University in 1978 and dated on and off for over a decade. They married in an intimate ceremony in Lansing, Michigan — Magic's hometown — on Sept. 14, 1999.
In 2016, Magic told PEOPLE, "The reason I live today, and the reason I work as hard today, is for my wife and my family."
This summer, the couple enjoyed their yearly luxe European vacation aboard a yacht. "This has been one of our best vacations because of the staff, chefs and the yacht," Magic wrote after the epic trip. "Thank you for a tremendous 6 weeks!"
Magic and Cookie began chronicling the trip on July 5 when he and Cookie visited a restaurant Michelangelo in Antibes, France.
“Tonight we enjoyed an incredible dinner at the world-famous Da Paolino Ristorante aka the lemon tree restaurant in Capri, Italy!” Johnson wrote on July 12. “AND I got to hang out with my great friend and the greatest basketball player to ever live, Michael Jordan, and his wife Yvette, Sam and LaTanya Jackson, Judge Greg and Linda Mathis, and John and Vicki Palmer.”
On Aug. 5, Magic wrote, "Cookie and I want to thank all of our friends that joined us on our 2023 vacation! We had great fun, lots of laughs, good conversation, and some amazing food! Now we have time to ourselves and I look forward to us spending our next week dating, enjoying each other, and watching a lot of movies," in a post on social media.

For the final leg of their European getaway, the couple enjoyed some in Croatia. In a post on Instagram, Magic said he and Cookie "shared a beautiful night in Dubrovnik, Croatia" and enjoyed dinner at the Nautika Restaurant.
"The view was spectacular and the food was amazing," Magic wrote in the Instagram caption, alongside a carousel of sweet photos with his wife.
Beyond the "amazing" food at dinner, Magic said the Nautika Restaurant was also "right behind" Fort Lovrijenac – "where Game of Thrones was filmed!"
Magic added that he and his wife of over three decades enjoyed "a beautiful week" of "hanging out, dating, reminiscing and watching Special Ops: Lioness with Zoe Saldana, Hijack with Idris Elba and other TV shows and movies."
