A woman is dead and a man is injured after they were hit by a pick-up truck in Glace Bay, N.S., on Saturday evening.

Cape Breton Regional Police have not laid any charges, but they spoke to witnesses and the driver, and have seized a Ford F-150 for inspection.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. at the corner of Third Street and West Avenue, said police spokesperson Desiree Magnus.

The couple was taken by ambulance to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney.

The woman was then sent by LifeFlight to Halifax for treatment of serious injuries, but was pronounced dead the next day.

The couple, who are in their 60s, and the driver are all residents of Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

The driving conditions and a nearby crosswalk are part of the ongoing investigation, said Magnus.
