Manhole covers in Plymouth went missing after heavy rain battered the city overnight on Wednesday into Thursday.

Plymouth City Council said it was called out to "a few missing manhole covers".

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to reports of a manhole cover being out of place on Plymouth Road, Plympton, and a collapsed drain cover on Kings Road, Devonport.

The council said heavy rain caused the issue and the covers have been replaced.
