Sydenham shooting: Manhunt after one person killed and two injured in southeast London
A man has been killed and two other people were injured in a shooting in London - with one of the survivors found with gunshot wounds to her legs.
No arrests have been made so far over what the Metropolitan Police called a "senseless act of violence".
Officers were called to Wells Park Road in Sydenham, in southeast London, at 10.10am on Sunday, with reports of a shooting.
Police and paramedics found a man with gunshot injuries, who died at the scene.
The woman who was shot in the legs was taken to hospital but her condition is not said to be life-threatening.
A third person later went to hospital with what were also thought to be gunshot wounds. Police were waiting for an update on their condition.
Commander Peter Stevens said: "I know people will be shocked by this senseless act of violence, all the more so on a Sunday morning in a residential area.
"I share their concerns and can assure the local community that the Met's response, alongside our partners, has been rapid.
"We are determined to safeguard the community, to get to the bottom of what happened here and bring those responsible to justice.
"You will see a considerable number of additional officers in the area, including forensic experts. Police cordons are likely to remain in place for some time so that they can carry out their vital work."
