Trusty underwear you can rely on for comfy days lounging on the sofa, heading into work, evenings out and even more glamorous affairs, is a must.
And, in our opinion, briefs which provide support, decent coverage, are comfortable, and don't show any VPL (visible panty lines), is the strict test our undies have to pass to make it to our underwear drawer.
We now believe - after many years of searching - that we have found "The Ones".
Meet Marks and Spencer's No VPL range of briefs, and particularly these amazing
Why we rate them
For many years I have struggled to find a pair of comfortable knickers that don't dig in, but also don't show, because, let's face it, we don't always (ever) want to wear a thong just to conceal our knicker line.
While some undergarments promise they're "invisible", they often disappoint, but M&S' don't.
This three-pack of briefs, which costs just £8, have a Brazilian cut that means they're low rise, with slight cut away across the bottom. In my opinion, they're a happy medium between a full brief and a thong.
They are made from a polyamide, lycra-elastane blend, while the gusset is made from 100% cotton, which I am here for, as they are soft on your more intimate areas. Basically the fabric feels like soft silk - without the hefty price tag.
Aside from the light seam around the top waistband, the rest of the hems are seam-free, which is how they disguise themselves under leggings, jeans, skirts and dresses.
The No VPL Microfibre Knickers also have added stretch, which, combined with the elasticated waist makes sure they do not slip off (God forbid) or ruche under your clothes.
They come in size small to extra large and a quick glance at the size chart will show you which correlates with your UK dress size. I'd say they are very true to size, and after a few wears, they give a little more.
They are available in opaline, as well as black, and at just £8 for a pack of three, they're an absolute bargain.
I have worn them for years, day in, day out, and I am loathe to ever wear any other style because they go with everything.
Whether I'm working from home and wearing joggers, working out in the gym and in skin tight yoga leggings (which aren't always the most modest) or on a night out in a dress, or satin slip skirt, I know these will provide the coverage, make me feel comfortable, and give the illusion I am wearing nothing at all - not that anyone should be looking - along with allowing any fabric to sit smoothly.
What the reviews say
M&S' No VPL Microfibre Brazilian Knickers are a must have for me, and most of my friends, but they are also a favourite with other shoppers too. Here's what they have to say:
"Love these! I’ve bought no VPL knickers in the past but still had a panty line. These are lovely and soft and comfortable and no panty line. Will definitely be buying more."
"So soft and comfortable. Great fit and they don’t ride up."
"Always buy M&S knickers as they fit well and no vpl."
"Great colours. Great fit. No show."
"No VLP, fits to size, does not slip down (used when wearing skirts, leggings, jeans and tights)."
