Marshmello, Westlife, Green Day set to rock out at F1 Singapore GP 2022

SINGAPORE — The scene is set for a rip-roaring return to Formula One trackside entertainment, as Singapore GP has lined up blockbuster acts Marshmello, Westlife and Green Day as headliners for the returning Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.

In its first announcement of Padang Stage acts, Singapore GP said on Monday (23 May) that the final line-up will include more than 75 performances over the three-day race from 30 September to 2 October.

These performances will be across eight stages in the Marina Bay Street Circuit Park, together with roaming performers as well as an array of displays and activities to entertain the race-watching crowds.

On the first race day on 30 September, Grammy-nominated DJ Marshmello will take to the Padang Stage with his infectious brand of electronic music.

With his iconic mask, Marshmello - real name Christopher Comstock - is one of the top 40 most streamed artists in the world on Spotify - clocking almost 12 billion stream across the music-streaming service alone - and the third most subscribed artist on YouTube.

He has enjoyed chart-topping singles and collaborations with the likes of Juice WRLD, Halsey, Demi Lovato, Bastille, Kane Brown, Selena Gomez and Jonas Brothers, and has featured on the cover of the Forbes magazine's "30 Under 30" issue,

On 1 October, one of the most successful boy bands of all time will return to Singapore to woo the crowd again on their "The Wildest Dreams Tour".

Westlife - consisting of vocalists Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nick Byrne - have enjoyed enduring success since forming in 1998, with 14 of their singles and eight of their 12 studio albums reaching No.1 on British charts and more than 24 million in sales in the UK.

The prolific chart-toppers whose hits include Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings, If I Let You Go, and My Love, have received numerous accolades, including one World Music Award, two Brit Awards, four MTV Awards, and four Record of the Year Awards.

Finally, legendary punk rock band Green Day will rock out on the Padang Stage after the F1 race on 2 October.

Made up of vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool, Green Day are one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, with more than 70 million records sold worldwide and over 10 billion streams.

The five-time Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are widely credited with popularising and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock, catapulting a career-long run of #1 hit singles including American Idiot, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and Wake Me Up When September Ends.

More acts will be unveiled in the coming weeks to complete the entertainment programme for the return of the F1 to the streets of Singapore after a two-year hiatus. The artist line-up is subject to change.

All tickets to the Singapore Grand Prix will have access to the Padang Stage in Zone 4. Patrons will need to ensure that they have a valid ticket on the relevant day of an act’s performance.

Meanwhile, additional walkabout and single-day grandstand tickets will be available for sale in the coming days.

Zone 4 and Premier Walkabout tickets will go on sale from Tuesday, 10am (Singapore time). Tickets in this category are available as single-day options priced from S$98 for a Friday Zone 4 Walkabout ticket, and three-day tickets from S$288.
