Martha Stewart, J.Lo and Meghan Markle all adore this luxe concealer
Just a few swipes can instantly brighten the skin under your eyes or help give you a more contoured look.
We can't always get the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep, but we can at least look like we did. Sure, you've probably used various skin care methods and makeup to mask your tired under eyes, but celebrities seem to have found the holy grail when it comes to brightening up their complexion. Over the years, Martha Stewart, Jennifer Lopez, Victoria Beckham, Meghan Markle and more have all shared that they use the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Awakening Concealer Click Pen.
Just a few swipes and you can make it look like you got a full night's rest.
The concealer comes in 14 shades and it contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin, vitamin E to brighten it and Moroccan calendula extract to soothe. This makes it especially great for applying over fine lines and wrinkles, because it doesn't dry up and settle in, which may make those imperfections more noticeable.
The applicator is nice, too. It's a soft brush — just pump the bottom to dispense the formula onto it and lightly paint it over your skin. You can use your fingers, a makeup sponge or a fluffier brush to blend it in.
Stewart's makeup artist reportedly daps the pen's brightening formula under the eyes, but says you can use it all over. Case in point: In a video for Vogue, Lopez calls it a "great little pen" for contouring and brightening, and paints a little down her nose.
But it's important to note that this isn't a new product. In fact, it first came to market in 1992! Ten years ago, when Markle was filming Suits, she shared in an interview with Birchbox that she applies the concealer to the inner corners of her eyes. "This trick is especially good when we are filming at 3 a.m., and I need to look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed," she said.
While there are tons of new concealers that have hit the market over the years, YSL's is a classic that stands the test of time. Celebs aren't the only fans, either. Thousands of shoppers at Nordstrom, Sephora, Macy's and more give it a five-star rating. It has a cult-like following.
"I have sensitive skin and this is the only under eye concealer that has worked for me," said one Nordstrom shopper who said they've used it for years. "Goes on silky and smooth — adore it!"
"It’s the only product that does not crease under my eyes, and therefore it's the only product I will use as my under eye concealer," shared another. "It completely covers my dark circles and brightens my under eyes for that bright and awake look."
"Best brightener out there," stated a loyal fan. "I’ve tried others and always go back. Lesson learned! No straying this time."
"I use one light stroke under each eye every day. I bought it last year and it’s still going strong!" said another. "Every makeup box needs one of these!"
Needless to say, if you're looking for a way to brighten your under eyes and other dark spots, from acne scars to melasma, the tried and true YSL Touche Éclat All Over Awakening Concealer is worth trying. Hey, if it's good enough to make celebs look camera-ready, it's probably good enough to help you look office ready on a busy Monday at 9 a.m.
Press the bottom of the pen to dispense the concealer onto the soft brush, then swipe it wherever your skin needs a little brightening up.
Of course, if you don't want to spend money like Stewart or Lopez, Amazon's No. 1 concealer has a similar pen-like style, over 147,000 rave reviews and it's under $10.
This popular Maybelline concealer comes in a wide range of shades. Just twist the pen to dispense the product into the spongey applicator on top and swipe it wherever.
In addition to Amazon fans, Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Kyle Richards called it "such a great concealer" in an Amazon Live shopping video.
