According to screenshots obtained by TMZ, Ehrich wrote, "Up to this moment we haven't spoken over the phone ... we haven't even officially ended anything to each other." He also added, " "If you're reading this ... I love you always.... unconditionally... no matter what. I'm here in real time with y'all. I love Demetria and just want her to be healthy and safe."
Update September 27 at 2:13 P.M.: A source at People revealed that Demi Lovato told Max Ehrich about the ending of their engagement before the news became public. The insider shared, “Demi made Max aware that the relationship was over and it was going to come out in the press."
According to Max Ehrich, he found out about the ending of his engagement to Demi Lovato while reading the tabloids — just like everyone else. Two days after reports surfaced about the pair going their separate ways, the actor broke his silence on the split, claiming he learned of the news not from his fiancée, but rather in the media.
On Saturday, Ehrich took to social media to shed some light on the former couple's breakup in a series of Instagram Stories. "Imagine finding out to the status of your relationship through a tabloid," he wrote in the first slide, continuing onto the next: "...While your in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people."
He added, "God bless."
Demi, on the other hand, has stayed quiet about her split from Ehrich, but she did post a photo without her engagement ring subtly confirming the news of the breakup, which occurred two months after they got engaged on the beach in Malibu.

According to a source at E! News, the film Ehrich referenced in his Instagram Story is the reason why their relationship "started going downhill." In the weeks before he traveled to Atlanta for the new project, they reportedly "were arguing a lot and Demi didn't want him to go without her."
Earlier this month, Demi reportedly made a trip to the movie set, but there was "a lot of tension" between the two, so she left "to get a clear head." However, long-distance apparently wasn't the only reason for the split. The same source claims there were "many red flags" Demi was ignoring about Max.
"She didn't know who Max truly was and didn't think he had good intentions," the insider added, with another validating: "She doesn't trust him and thinks he's sketchy."
