She told her followers, "There's nothing like the death of someone extremely close to you to make you stop and take stock and make you reassess what you're doing with your own life and underline the complete importance of how precious life is."

Megan shared that closing her business was the right thing to do as she spent a long time fighting to keep it going after "trusting the wrong people".

"Boy did I trust the wrong people, and with some pretty major elements of the business," she explained.

"I mean, just have never seen or experienced such a level of unprofessionalism, lack of integrity, lack of competence – the list goes on."

She revealed that it had created such big issues, but after realising how much time she'd lost in the process of trying to right the wrongs, she was at a loss for what to do.

When she found out her brother had passed away, her perspective changed completely.

"Nothing else mattered except family, that's when I pressed pause, went to Perth and in quarantine," she said.

"That's when I had a lot of time. There's nothing like the death of someone extremely close to you to make you stop and take stock and make you reassess what you're doing with your own life."

She continued, saying she came to realise "the complete importance of how precious life is and how little time we really do have here and how we don't know how long we have here".

At the time, Megan was faced with the decision to travel to Perth for the funeral and quarantine for two weeks on her own, or stay with her family while she was grieving.

Knowing she'd regret not going to her brother's funeral, she decided to go.

"As I sat in quarantine, I realised I don't have to keep fighting to rebuild this business, what I should be fighting for is rebuilding myself... Ultimately, day to day, it was becoming less and less harmonious for me," she said.

After making the decision to close The Mindful Life, Megan now has more time to spend with her children River, six, and Rosie, two, as well as her fiancé Shaun Hampson.

Megan said there was always a chance that the business would return, but for now she was closing that chapter.

"It feels good to let it go," she said, saying she's looking forward to taking off the rest of the year.

Followers were quick to comment on the post with their support, one user wrote, "Sorry to hear this Megan, you've made the right decision, look after yourself first, business is not easy."

Another said, "Oooo honey well done you for being strong enough to make the call that rings true to you now. Absolutely take the time to make more memories with the family as it’s so important - sorry for all your losses but good on you for making the right decision for now. Love always."

Someone else added, "What an example of living a mindful life! It takes real courage and self reflection to choose a different path. I just have so much respect."

Jason went missing for a week in July and was last seen on the 14th buying petrol and water at the Popanyinning General Store, 160km from his home.

Following the week-long search, Jason was found next to his car. His death wasn't considered suspicious.
