Megan Thee Stallion Is 'Excited to Change Clothes 500 Times' During VMAs 2024 Hosting Gig (Exclusive)
The rapper will host and perform during the annual awards show on Sept. 11
Megan Thee Stallion has an outfit or two — or "500" — planned for her hosting gig at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE ahead of the annual awards show on Wednesday, Sept. 11, the rapper, 29, reveals what she is looking forward to most about the music-centric event.
"I'm excited to change clothes 500 times. I'm excited to perform. I'm excited to see all the Hotties," Megan says.
"I love New York, I can't wait to be there again and eat all the food, and I'm excited for people to see what I bring to the table while hosting," the Grammy winner adds.

MTV announced last month that Megan will serve as the host of this year's VMAs. Nicki Minaj hosted the previous two VMAs ceremonies.
At the event, the "Savage" musician is nominated for five awards, including best collaboration for "Wanna Be" with GloRilla, as well as best hip-hop, best visual effects, best direction and best art direction for "Boa."

Pointing to her recently released Pepsi ad — which is her first with the soda brand and features various NFL stars, including Travis Kelce and Josh Allen — Megan tells PEOPLE that partnership and hosting the VMAs are both "very iconic moments" in her career.
"I'm like, 'OK, now you all better stop acting like I'm not famous around here because I'm doing all the things,' " Megan says with a laugh. "This is going to be so iconic, and it's going to be great. I can't wait for everybody to see it."
Nominations for the 2024 MTV VMAs were led by Taylor Swift with 10, followed by Post Malone with nine, while Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem and Ariana Grande each earned six.
Katy Perry will be honored at the ceremony with the coveted video vanguard award, and she will perform a medley of hits from her catalog — plus, presumably, some new material from her upcoming 143 album.
Other performers at this year's VMAs will include Carpenter, Eminem, GloRilla, Anitta, Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, Halsey, Karol G, LL Cool J, Lenny Kravitz, LISA of Blackpink, Shawn Mendes and Rauw Alejandro.
The 2024 MTV VMAs will air live from UBS Arena in New York on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. ET.
