Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have purchased their first home together in Santa Barbara, California, where they intend to raise their son Archie. This is a big step for the couple who moved to America earlier this year, as up until now they've been renting a beautiful mansion previously inhabited by actor Tyler Perry, while looking for somewhere more permanent. Although obviously house-hunting during a pandemic probably isn't the easiest of tasks...

Their new home is thought to be in a gorgeous seaside town, 100 miles outside of LA, which will hopefully afford them some privacy and a quieter pace of life. The reports that they'd settled into a new place last month were confirmed today by HELLO! magazine, who say a spokesperson for the couple told them, "They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since their arrival and hope that this will be respected for their neighbours, as well as for them as a family."

They'll be far from the only famous faces in the area though, with Tom Hanks, Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman all thought to have called it home at one point or another. Imagine the dinner parties they could have!

It's thought that the couple have actually been quietly living in their new property for six weeks already. A source reportedly told Page Six, "Harry and Meghan have been quietly living in their own home in Santa Barbara since early July. They're not houseguests of Oprah [who also lives in the area] or anyone else, they bought this home themselves. This is where they want to continue their lives after leaving the UK.

"This is the first home either of them has ever owned. It has been a very special time for them as a couple and as a family — to have complete privacy for six weeks since they moved in. This is where they want to bring Archie up, where they hope he can have as normal a life as possible."

Prior to living in America, Meghan and Harry spent a few months based in Canada's Vancouver Island, a country where the former actress already had roots and lived while filming the popular legal series, Suits.

Around the time that the couple departed Canada for LA, a royal insider said: "They have a big support network there [in LA]. It’s where their new team of Hollywood agents and PRs and business managers are based. Meghan has lots of friends there and, of course, her mum Doria."

Congratulations on your move, Meghan and Harry!
