Even though the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took place over two years ago, on 18 May 2018, we still love to reminisce about the grandeur of the day (and of course, that dress).

Luckily, we now have a few new alleged details to pore over – specifically relating to the latter half of the event, which was kept private from the press. These previously unknown tidbits have been shared in a book all about the couple's decision to step away from their senior royal roles, Finding Freedom, which is released today.

An anonymous source told authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand that the evening portion of the wedding, which featured a slimmed down guest list of only Harry and Meghan's truly close family and friends (all of whom were told they weren't allowed to share any pictures), took place in a custom-built marquee. The book also shares that every last detail had been thoroughly thought out by the couple, including the names of the tables.

"At precisely 7.30pm, the group in their black tie finery, was ushered into the custom-built marquee erected in front of the seventeenth century mansion [Frogmore Hall in Windsor], finding spots at one of the twenty tables named for various foods with different British and American pronunciations." How adorable is that?!

The book then goes on to give a few examples of said foods: "While one group of pals set down their cocktail glasses at a table labelled with 'tomato', others were assigned 'basil', 'oregano', 'potato' or 'arugula'. In describing the event to Vanity Fair, close friend Janina Gavankar said, 'There were so many nods to the beautiful mash-up of two cultures.'"

We love the level of thought that was put into their day – and it's obviously paid off, as here we are, two years down the line still swooning over it. Another snippet from Finding Freedom also shares that one of the custom created cocktails served on the day was named 'When Harry Met Meghan'. Too much!

When discussing the difference between the daytime ceremony and the evening soirée, one guest told authors, "The ceremony was just incredible to be a part of... such an honour to witness. But in the evening, you really felt that you were at your friend's wedding. It was a small, safe group."
