When the day of May 19, 2018 rolled around, the whole world was excited to see Prince Harry marry Meghan Markle. But the couple have revealed in their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey that they were, in fact, already married at the time... How's that for a bombshell.

Speaking in the highly anticipated interview, Meghan shared the previously unknown information that she and Harry had already been officially married for three days by the time their public royal wedding came around.

"You know our wedding - three days before our wedding, we got married," the Duchess of Sussex told Oprah. "No one knows that. We called the Archbishop and we just said, look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world. But we want our union between us, so the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury."

Prince Harry added: "Yeah, just the three of us."

The Sussexes haven't confirmed whether the rest of their royal relations knew about the secret nuptials, but it seems either way, it meant a great deal to them to be able to share a moment privately.

The Oprah interview aired last night as a CBS special in the United States, and will be broadcast in full this evening (Monday 8 March) in the UK at 9pm on ITV. During the conversation, we also learned that Meghan and Harry are expecting a baby girl later this year.

"It’s a girl," Prince Harry told Oprah, adding that he is "grateful" to be expecting the fourth and final member of their family. "To have any child, any one or two, would be amazing. But to have a boy and then a girl, what more could you ask for? Now we’ve got our family, the four of us and our two dogs. It’s great," said the Duke.
