Meghan Markle has made a surprise return to the spotlight, days after she and Prince Harry were criticised for taking four private jets in less than two weeks.

Now the duchess has shown she’s ready to get back to work, and given fans a sneak peek of a clothing line made in support of one of her royal patronages, Smart Works.

Lending a hand

The comeback was made via Instagram stories, where Meghan was seen laughing and smiling as she greeted the organisation’s models and staff.

Dressed down in black skinny jeans and an oversized Frank & Eileen stripped shirt, the 38-year-old matched the look with a pair of her go-to nude heels.

Also spotted in the 30-second clip is fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who is famously said to have introduced Harry and Meghan and is working alongside her close pal on the new release.

The collection is planned to be sold on a one-for-one basis, which will see an item donated for every one bought.

And while the cameo is sure to showcase the duchess’ commitment to her chosen cause, it comes after another turbulent week for the Sussexes.

Jetting around

Controversy was first sparked when the family-of-three were found to have criss-crossed continental Europe in private jets, first to Ibiza and then to the south of France just days later.

However, their celebrity pals were quick to come to Meghan and Harry’s defence with Elton John calling the media’s treatment of the couple ‘malicious’.

The duchess’ best friend Jessica Mulroney also hit back at critics, calling those who took issue with the couple’s holidaying habits ‘racist bullies’.
