Hours after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially stepped down as senior members of the royal family, the couple’s former Sussex Royal office has a new out-of-office response for any messages it receives.

A day after the pair bid farewell to their working royal roles, an auto-reply now confirms the end of their former positions.

‘Many thanks for your email. The office for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has now closed,’ an auto reply reads, according to PEOPLE.

The news comes two months after the couple let their London staff go as they would no longer have an office at Buckingham Palace. The couples’ former PR manager Sara Latham has since moved over to Queen Elizabeth’s private office.

On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a statement on their former Instagram account to thank their followers for their love and support over the years.

The parents of 11-month-old Archie signed off the statement ‘Harry and Meghan’, choosing not to add their previous royal titles which they will no longer use following their financial independence from the royal family.

The couple continued, adding that they look forward to catch up with their Instagram community soon, noting: ‘You’ve been great!

‘Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.’

The Daily Mail reports that the pair will no longer user their Instagram handle @sussexroyal.

Meanwhile, a royal spokesperson confirmed that their media relations will now be managed ‘in the interim’ by PR Firm Sunshine Sachs in New York.

‘No other royal communications representatives act on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, including palace spokespeople, Household representatives nor royal sources,’ a statement confirmed.

Last month, Disney+ announced that Markle was returning to her Hollywood roots by delivering a voiceover on the upcoming Disneynature documentary, Elephants.

In the tweet, a narrator announcing the news explains that Elephants is narrated by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex which ‘follows one family’s 1,000 miles journey across Africa’. The film will be streamed on the platform on Friday April 3.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry will be focussing on his sustainable tourism venture Travalyst going forward, which will now be an ‘independent non-profit org in [the] UK’.
