Meghan 'won't ever' want to return to royal family, expert claims

A royal expert has revealed why she doesn't believe Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will want to return to the royal family.

The couple, who now live in Santa Barbara, California with their son Archie, have "burnt significant bridges beyond repair" according to Penny Junor.

The royal biographer said that while she believed that Harry could improve his relationship with brother Prince William, it's not likely that Meghan will ever want to return to that life.

She added that she believes Meghan, who has been vocal in urging Americans to vote in the upcoming election, wouldn't be able to change the world in the way she wishes while working in the royal family.

"In the past few months, Harry and Meghan have burnt some significant bridges that may be beyond repair," Penny wrote in The Mirror.

"Right now, that doesn't seem to bother them. And I can't see Meghan ever wanting a way back. What she discovered in her brief spell as a working member, is the British royal family is no place for someone with political ambition.

"This centuries-old institution provides an unparalleled platform for charitable work – to change and improve people's lives – but it is not the springboard for changing the world – however burning and evident the need."

Penny added that while Harry doesn't have the same political ambitions, his passions lie in helping those who are disadvantaged.

She also suggested that Harry "will find his way back" one day.

It comes after a source close to Meghan reportedly claimed she would "seriously consider running for president" if she and Harry ever "gave up their titles".

"One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics," the source told Vanity Fair's Katie Nicholl.

"I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president."

However, others have said the Duchess of Sussex has no interest in a political career.

"While there's no denying she is interested and engaged in politics as a topic, she harbours no ambition to enter a career in politics herself," a source told the publication.
