Melania Trump blasted for $2k veggie picking shirt

The First Lady of the United States hasn't had much luck in terms of her fashion choices lately and now another outfit choice has left people outraged.

Spotted out in the White House garden last week harvesting vegetables with local children, it was her choice of gardening attire which most people noticed.

Where most of us might reach into the deepest darkest depths of our wardrobes to pull out the rattiest shirt we can find - Melania Trump opted for a $1,800 Balmain shirt.

Although it's surprising that she is actually doing work in the garden that was first started by Michelle Obama during her time in the White House, many Twitter users were more interested in her choice of vegetable picking clothes.

It's not the first time Melania has been pulled up for an outfit choice. First there was the $3700 Delpozo dress she wore to give a speech about childhood hunger to the United Nations General Assembly, which Twitter was quick to point out came off as a little inappropriate.

And just a few weeks ago, she was criticised again for wearing heels - Manolo Blahniks - to visit areas affected by Hurricane Harvey.

But Melania also had people jump in to quickly defend her - reminding us all that even Michelle Obama made an odd choice when she picked up the shovel – wearing a pair of $1450 jimmy choo boots to do the gardening.
