Montreal drivers: Avoid Highway 40 West this weekend
A stretch of Highway 40 West will be completely closed this weekend between late Friday night and early Monday morning.
Due to paving work on the roads, Highway 40 West will be completely shut down between the Laurentian Interchange that connects it to Highway 15 and the on-ramp on Cavendish Boulevard.
Drivers heading west toward that interchange will be forced off the highway and will have to deal with traffic on the service road.
Here are some times to keep in mind for Friday night:
The ramp taking drivers from Highway 40 West to Highway 15 South will close at 11:59 p.m.
The ramp taking drivers from Highway 15 North to Highway 40 West will close at 11:30 p.m.
The Highway 40 West entrance on Stinson Street will close at 11 p.m.
The ramp taking drivers from Highway 40 West to Highway 520 West, the road that leads to the Trudeau International Airport, will be closed as of 11:59 p.m.
These roads and access points will reopen Monday morning at 5 a.m.
The Transport Ministry suggests using highways 440, 13, 20 and 30 to get around. It also says the work and the closures could be postponed if it rains.
