Mum baffled by question in 7-year-old son’s maths homework
A mum has taken to Facebook after being left completely baffled by her seven-year-old son's maths homework in the hopes someone might have the answer for her, however, numerous people were unable figure it out.
Teresa Hopper shared a photo of her son's homework to Facebook group Family Lockdown Tips and Tricks, begging for some help.
She wrote, "I hate homework. Please help! Is the answer to a) & b) the same or am I missing something?!"
The question read, "Karla says: 'I have three hundreds counters, 17 tens counters and 16 ones counters.'
"a) Can she make two equal three-digit numbers? If so, draw the counters to show them.
"b) Can she make two equal three-digit numbers if she had to use all her counters? If so, draw the counters to show them."
Many people were unable to come up with the answer, even someone with a PhD in maths failed, "I have a PhD in maths, and I have no idea what this question is asking," they said.

"Unless there’s a diagram to go with it, or more explanation somewhere else."
"How old is this homework meant for?" another user asked.
In response, someone wrote, "Clearly not for a 40 year old woman, I’m lost."
In the end, Teresa got the question correct, sharing a photo of the answer, which was 172 for a and 243 for b, according to The Sun.
The publication reports Teresa confirmed to Fabulous Digital, "The teacher has marked it as correct! I certainly didn't expect it to be so difficult."
