NBA betting: Warriors are Finals favorites again after Game 4 win over Grizzlies
The Warriors have a 3-1 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies and are the NBA Finals favorites again.
Golden State came back in the fourth quarter against the Grizzlies in an ugly 101-98 win on Monday night to get a win away from the conference finals. With Phoenix now tied 2-2 with the Mavericks ahead of a pivotal Game 5 on Tuesday night, Golden State is +220 to win the NBA title at BetMGM.
The Suns were the favorites for the title entering the weekend. But Phoenix’s 2-0 lead in the series disappeared over the course of two games in Dallas and the top team in the regular season is now at +275 to win the title.
Phoenix is a 5.5-point favorite at home over the Mavericks ahead of Tuesday’s Game 5. The Warriors are significant favorites to beat the Grizzlies with Ja Morant likely out for Game 5 with a right knee injury after he missed Game 4. The NBA didn’t discipline the Warriors’ Jordan Poole for grabbing Morant’s knee during Game 3 in an apparent attempt to go for a steal. The Grizzlies believe that Poole’s grab of the knee triggered Morant’s knee injury.
The Celtics are also 5.5-point favorites in Game 5 at home against the Bucks. Boston’s Game 4 win on Monday night thanks to a red-hot Al Horford evened the series at 2-2. That win pushed the Celtics back into favorite status in the East at +450 to win it all ahead of the Heat and the Bucks.
Miami is at +650 to win the Finals while Milwaukee is at +700. The Heat are 3.5-point favorites against the Sixers in Game 5 as that series is also tied at 2-2. If you’re confident in the Finals chances of any team in a series tied 2-2 right now you should jump on their odds. A win in Game 5 by your preferred team will shorten their odds. The only team that doesn’t have much value at the moment is the Warriors given Morant’s absence and their 3-1 lead.
