And while Jarvis was the favourite, that '0' in his record looked to be in serious peril as Frias unloaded an absolute storm of punches against the Aussie who was hanging in there.

"Jarvis up against the ropes...this is a disaster for the Australian," DAZN commentator Todd Grisham said.

“He’s got to get out of there. What an upset this would be. Jarvis has never been in this kind of trouble before.

"This is incredible. They didn’t even list odds for this fight in Las Vegas.”

However, remarkably, Jarvis was able to throw a few punches back amid the onslaught and survived the round.

And showing true grit he went on to stop Frias in the 5th after a TKO decision.

Boxing world lauds Brock Jarvis' resilience

Fans were quick the laud the heart of the Australian after nearly being stopped in the second round.

Others were excited at the young prospect and his exciting and relentless style of boxing.

Former WBC light middleweight champion Sergio Mora heaped praise on Frias and noted Fenech showed his respect after the fight.

“You can see Jeff Fenech going to Alejandro’s corner and congratulating him because this is going to make Brock Jarvis a better fighter,” he said during commentary.

“He now knows what it’s like to be hurt. He’s the one who had to survive tonight.”
