Bruno Mars, who performed two sold out Auckland concerts as part of his Moonshine Jungle World Tour last weekend, will leave New Zealand with a string of glowing reviews, public adulation and a new Vector Arena box office attendance record tucked under his Panama hat.
In April 2011 the Grammy award winning, multi-platinum, RIANZ #1, superstar played his first ever arena show at Auckland’s Vector Arena to around 6,700 people - less than three years later Mars returned to perform to more than 23,500 ecstatic fans.
Live Nation is thrilled to announce that the final New Zealand performance by Bruno Mars has broken Vector Arena’s house attendance record for a concert in ‘end stage’ mode, with 12,142 fans in attendance. The previous record has stood since May 2009.
New Zealand media has heaped outstanding praise on Bruno Mars’s Auckland concerts:
…he’s one of the most flawless performers I’ve witnessed. I’ve gone home with a new respect for Mr. Bruno Mars…big ambition, huge show. Jake Ebdale / Rip It Up
I may be biased due to the dancing, lighting, and glitter, but I’m calling Bruno Mars and the Hooligans as one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I kind of wish it had never ended. Alice Hunt / Coup de Main
Mars is a showman. Not only can he write a bloody catchy pop song - and sing it impressively - but he puts on a spectacle. Bridget Jones / NZ Herald
