One of the Kangaroos' greatest goal-kicking wingers Noel Pidding has died aged 86, the Australian Rugby League said on Monday.
Pidding, a championship winner with the St George Dragons in 1949, set a number of point-scoring records during a decorated first-grade career spanning 10 seasons.
On the 1952 Kangaroos tour to England and France, Pidding amassed 228 points, second only to Dave Brown's record of 285.
Two years later Pidding set a then-individual record for an Australian player in an Ashes Test against Great Britain with 19 points.
"History shows Noel was an integral part of a golden generation of Kangaroos representatives," Australian Rugby League commission chairman John Grant said in a statement.
"His point-scoring talents stand amongst the best in the game, as does his ability as both a fullback and winger."
