The Dallas Cowboys are favored to win the NFC East, just like they were before the draft.

However, the Philadelphia Eagles cut the gap a bit.

When the NFL draft started, the Cowboys were -120 to win the NFC East at BetMGM. The Eagles were second in line at +300. Then the draft happened, the Eagles made a huge trade, and the odds moved to Cowboys -105 as favorites and Eagles +250 behind them.

That's not a huge shift, but it shows that oddsmakers like how the Eagles improved themselves.

Eagles land A.J. Brown

Perhaps the biggest move in the NFL last week was the Eagles' trade for receiver A.J. Brown. The Tennessee Titans didn't want to pay Brown what he was asking, so they traded him to the Eagles for the No. 18 and No. 101 overall picks in the draft. That's not too much, in terms of draft capital, to give up for the 24-year-old Brown. Brown is one of the most talented receivers in the NFL.

Brown and DeVonta Smith seem to be a great tandem, complementing each other well, and they'll boost the Eagles' passing game. Philadelphia led the NFL in rushing yards last season.

Philly also added to the defense with huge defensive tackle Jordan Davis and linebacker Nakobe Dean, who fell to the third round due to injury concerns.

The Cowboys didn't make a huge splash. Their first-round pick of Tulsa OT Tyler Smith wasn't exciting, though he should help the line. It doesn't seem like Dallas had the type of draft that will boost the Cowboys too much in 2022.

That's why the Eagles are creeping up in the NFC East odds.

Other shifts in division odds

This wasn't a great draft, when it comes to instant impact players. That is shown in the odds at BetMGM: No team's Super Bowl odds moved from before the draft to Monday morning, and no team's win total shifted by even a half-win.

The only notable movement in future odds was for division bets, and even those weren't huge.

The biggest change happened in the AFC South. The Indianapolis Colts were +125 to win the AFC South before the draft, behind the Titans. They jumped over the Titans after the Brown trade, and Indianapolis is the current favorite to win the division at +105.

The Cleveland Browns moved slightly from +160 before the draft to +170 on Monday. The Cincinnati Bengals, third in the AFC North odds, moved from +240 to +220.

Another favorite moving back was the Kansas City Chiefs, who went from +135 to win the AFC West before the draft to +150. The Los Angeles Chargers moved up from +270 to +250 and the Denver Broncos improved from +280 to +260 in the division odds.

Every team likes what it did in the draft. But the odds say nothing happened to move the needle too much, in terms of 2022 odds.
