Nicole Kidman’s former stunt double, Cheryl Sanders, has been shot and killed along with her husband in a shootout with her ex-husband and his new wife.

Cheryl, 59, and Robert Reed Sanders, 56, died after attempting to ‘ambush’ Lindsey Duncan and his wife Molly outside their Ohio home on Wednesday, according to reports.

Cheryl and Robert - who also ran the health supplements business Zen Formulas - allegedly drove six hours from their home in North Carolina to confront Lindsay and Molly.

“All of a sudden, hell began,” Lindsey told a press conference, adding that he and his wife were victims of an “absolute, total ambush” as they returned home in their car after a morning shopping trip.

Lindsey confessed to shooting dead his ex-wife and her husband, authorities say, however, the case is currently listed as justifiable homicide and he has not been charged, according to the Dayton Daily News.

“The most difficult of this whole process - besides listening to my wife [Molly] say, ‘I’m going to die, they’re going to kill me’ - is having to tell my two daughters that their mother’s been shot,” Lindsey is quoted by Dayton 24/7 Now.

Cheryl - who also performed stunts for Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba - shared two university-aged daughters with Lindsey.

Lindsey described how a “6-foot-something” man in “a full camo mask and hoodie” approached his wife’s side of their car and held his gun just inches from her head.

Lindsey opened fire and killed the man, later identified as Robert by local County Sheriff Gene Fischer.

Cheryl arrived soon after and began firing her own weapon but was also killed by Lindsey.

“The word ‘ambush’ is exactly what it was,” Molly said. “We were caught off-guard. They said nothing and they started shooting at us.”

Lindsey denied suggestions that the Sanders couple were there to discuss ‘an educational trust fund’ for their children.

Sheriff Fischer also revealed that five years earlier Lindsey had said he believed his ex-wife was trying to hire someone to kill him.
