NRL fans blast 'disgraceful' Bunker call as Warriors fans turn on Andrew Webster and Shaun Johnson

The Warriors have endured arguably the most embarrassing loss in their club's history.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has spent 10 minutes in the sin bin in one of the most controversial NRL calls of the year as Warriors fans have let rip at coach Andrew Webster and Shaun Johnson after arguably the team's worst ever performance. The Warriors were looking for a vital win to keep their top eight chances alive in 2024 having entered the game in 13th.

However, the Warriors were ripped apart from the kick-off as David Fifita and Jayden Campbell orchestrated a cricket score as the Titans recorded the highest points tally for the club in the first-half of an NRL game. The Warriors were rudderless and appeared completely at sea as Johnson failed to help stop the onslaught as they went down 30-0 after 40 minutes.

Broadcast showed Warriors coach Webster giving it to the players at half-time, but it made no difference with the Titans scoring two tries within 15 minutes of the restart. And then controversy hit the game when Tuivasa-Sheck was then sent to the sin bin for a dangerous tackle.

And fans were not afraid to let the Warriors know how they were feeling after a 66-6 loss. The Warriors made the top four last year with Webster winning the Dally M Coach of the Year. However, the passion for the jersey appears to have dissipated in recent weeks with the Warriors letting the Titans players run through to the try line at will in the second-half.

Johnson appeared well off his game as he endured a horror evening, which included a pass that was intercepted for a try. The broadcast cut to Johnson in the locker room after the game looking defeated and stunned at his team's performance. And Webster will need to make decisions with the Warriors suffering arguably their worst ever defeat in the NRL and face missing out on the top eight.

While Warriors fans will be fuming over the performance with the coach and players facing criticism, NRL fans were left labelling Tuivasa-Sheck's sin-binning as one of the worst calls in 2024. Tuivasa-Sheck hit Campbell in the ribs and proceeded to slightly lift him above the horizontal in a strong tackle.

Campbell was not injured, but a a penalty was called. "I think this is a tough call," Steve Roach said when Tuivasa-Sheck was looking at a sin-bin. When the Bunker deemed the Warriors centre had made a dangerous tackle, he was sent from the field. The Fox Sports commentators were left stunned at the decision.

The crowd booed as Tuivasa-Sheck left the field and NRL fans watching around Australia and New Zealand were left absolutely fuming after borderline tackle was deemed worthy of a sin bin.

The Titans were immense against the Warriors with Fifita running for 137 metres by half-time. He finished with 203 metres and seven tackle breaks, a line break and a line break assist. Alofiana Khan-Pereira scored a whopping four tries in the demolition.
