Horse rescued from pool at suburban home

A horse in suburban Phoenix needed rescuing after it led itself to water and did more than just drink.

Mesa firefighters say the horse was wandering outside of its pen on the weekend when the animal somehow fell into the backyard swimming pool and became stuck.

Mesa Fire Captain Forrest Smith says firefighters, with the assistance of a veterinarian, tranquilised the horse before pulling it out using several straps.

Smith says the horse was not injured.
