Olivia Newton-John's Daughter Chloe Lattanzi Pays Tribute to Late Actress with Touching Photos

The daughter of late actress Olivia Newton-John is remembering the special memories they've shared.

On Monday, Chloe Lattanzi posted a series of sweet photos with herself and the Grease star, beginning with a throwback of Lattanzi adorably grabbing her mother's face for a kiss, and ending with selfies and photos of the mother-daughter duo throughout the years.

Lattanzi's touching post comes hours after Newton-John's death was announced. She was 73.

In May 2017, the four-time Grammy winner shared that she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that had spread to her back.

In an interview with PEOPLE in February 2021, Newton-John told PEOPLE how Lattanzi being by her side helped her during her tough journey.

"I'm so lucky to still be doing all these things," Newton-John said of attending Lattanzi's wedding and releasing a single with her called "Window in the Wall" at the time. "I don't think I imagined living this long! I feel very blessed."

Though they've always shared a tight bond, she and Lattanzi became even closer as they quarantined together in California during the coronavirus pandemic. Lattanzi eventually moved to Portland, Oregon, but revealed in late July that she had moved back to be near Newton-John.

"I worked my whole life, and the longest period I can remember being home was my pregnancy with Chloe and the first year or two of her life," said Newton-John at the time. "So it's been wonderful reconnecting with my baby. She is my reason to be."

She added that she knew very early on that her daughter (from her marriage to ex-husband Matt Lattanzi) would follow in her musical footsteps.

"She would sing and perform and knew the words to everything on the radio and every record," Newton-John said. "And then she went through a shy period and didn't want to do it as much. When she was about 13, we made a TV movie together and she sang 'At Last,' which is a classic Etta James song. It was so moving, and I went, 'Oh boy, she has it.' "

Lattanzi later released her 2016 studio album, No Pain, which included a reworking of her mom's 1980 hit "Magic" from the film Xanadu. She shared with PEOPLE what it was like growing up with Newton-John, and what inspired her to perform her mother's song.

"As a kid, I wasn't paying attention to her as a celebrity. She's my mom, you know? Like, she takes me to school," she told PEOPLE. "I think as I've gotten older, that's when I got to listening to her music. I did a re-imagining of 'Magic' because I loved it so much."

Lattanzi, who was gearing up for her wedding at the time, went on to share a sage piece of advice her mom once gave her: "Don't change for anybody because that's not love."
